Lyrics
ye teraa ghar ye meraa ghar kisi ko dekhnaa ho gar
to pahle aa ke maang le, meri nazar teri nazar
ye teraa ghar ye meraa ghar kisi ko dekhnaa ho gar
to pahle aa ke maang le, meri nazar teri nazar
ye teraa ghar ye meraa ghar
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
na baadlon ki chhaanv mein,
na chaandni ke gaanv mein
na phool jaise raaste bane hain iske waaste
magar ye ghar ajeeb hai,
zameen ke qareeb hai
ye eint pattharon kaa ghar,
hamaari hasraton kaa ghar
ye teraa ghar ye meraa ghar
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
jo chaandni nahin to kyaa,
ye roshani hai pyaar ki
dilon ke phool khil gaye,
to fiqr kyaa bahaar ki
hamaare ghar na aayegi,
kabhi khushi udhaar ki
hamaari raahaton kaa ghar,
hamaari chaahaton kaa ghar
ye teraa ghar ye meraa ghar
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
mohabbaton ka rang hai
ye ghar tumhaara khwaab hai,
ye ghar meri umang hai
na aarzoo pe qaid hai,
na hausle pe zang hai
hamaare husalon ka ghar
hamari himaato ka ghar
ye teraa ghar ye meraa ghar
kisi ko dekhnaa ho gar
to pahle aa ke maang le,
meri nazar teri nazar
ye teraa ghar ye meraa ghar
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
ye ghar bahut haseen hai
ye ghar bahut haseen hai..
Its one of the favorite songs of mine.It seems quite old , but i suppose it awakens the same magic , as it must have done decades back.It is written by Javed Akhtar and it is a beautifully written song, which has been sung so nicely by Jagjeet Singh and Chitra Singh under the music direction of Kuldeep Singh. The movie is Saath Saath (1982). If the song is wonderful, then the picturisation is even more so. Unlike most picturisation of songs, which are mostly make believe, with little reality in them, this picturisation is extremely realistic. Farooque Shaikh and Deepti Nawal play a lower middle class couple and the picturisation shows the two going about their daily chores.
It is a song whose enjoyment gets vastly enhanced if it’s video is watched alongwith the song. It is only just now that I have watched picturisation. Alongwith that I also listened to the lyrics carefully and I realised how nicely and imaginatively Javed Akhtar has written the lyrics. Javed Akhtar was knows as a screen play writer as part of Salim Javed duo, but in this movie he demonstrated that he was a chip of the old block when it came to writing songs. Yes, he was the son of Jaan Nissar Akhtar, the veteran lyricist of Bollywood movies.
In summary, a very beautiful song, and a very nice, down to earth picturisation of the song. I love watching this song.So enjoy.....Its a classic as far as I can say..a classic combo....
